Fifty year review and future opportunities of metal packaging industry
reviewing the development process of China's packaging industry, it was almost blank in old China before the founding of the people's Republic of China, and it was relatively backward even before the reform and opening up. The leap of packaging industry has developed rapidly with the reform and opening up. It can be traced back to the establishment of the China Packaging Technology Association with the approval of the State Council on December 21st, 1980, and the gradual formation of a large multi category packaging industry system. China's packaging industry has developed rapidly. It is a miracle that it has gone through the course of 40 or 50 years in the world's advanced countries in nearly 20 years. The same is true of the metal container packaging industry. The metal container Professional Committee of China Packaging Association was established four months after the establishment of China Packaging Association, which rose with the development of the national packaging industry
the metal container packaging industry has a long history. In old China, there were several manual or semi mechanized manual workshops and small can factories producing metal cans in several major cities. In the 1940s, the working principle of the British jiuland was clearly introduced into China through the technology of sealing and heating sterilization, which can be stored for a long time. Due to the restrictions of various conditions in the old society, only a few Canners applied this technology, and the required empty cans still rely on imports
in the 1950s after the founding of the people's Republic of China, some large and medium-sized canneries were developed. Some factories have gradually established their own can making workshops, introduced foreign equipment, and since then began to establish a few professional iron printing can making factories. In the 1960s, some reasons hindered the development of this industry. It started in the late 1960s and developed slowly in the 1970s. Driving into the fast lane really reached a climax after the reform and opening up in the 1980s. According to statistics, at the end of the 1970s, there were about 200 tin printing can making plants, cover making plants, barrel making plants and seal can manufacturing plants in China, and by the end of the 1980s, there were 700. The "Eighth Five Year Plan" period in was the heyday of the development of metal containers, reaching 1100. By 1997, it had increased to 1300, an increase of 600 in seven years, with an average of 86 every year, and one enterprise opened every four days. There are two main reasons for such rapid development: first, small-scale township enterprises are blindly launched; Second, foreign investors are flocking to China's big market. At present, foreign-funded enterprises have accounted for one third, accounting for half of China's metal container market
in terms of the growth rate of several major economic indicators, compared with 1986, the total output of metal container packaging in 1997 was 550000 tons, the total output value was 1.1 billion yuan (constant price), the sales revenue was 2.8 billion yuan, and the profit and tax was 170million yuan. By 1997, 16.7 billion tons, 15.6 billion yuan, 14.7 billion yuan and 1.07 billion yuan had been achieved in the above four indicators. In the past ten years, it has increased by 2 times, 13 times, 4.3 times and 5.3 times respectively
from the perspective of current equipment, the improvement of equipment in the container industry began in the late 1980s and early 1990s, mainly from foreign-funded enterprises with large investment, high starting point, advanced technology and sophisticated equipment, and a few large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises with relatively good economic benefits. Among them, the introduction of equipment of two-piece cans, three piece cans, crown caps, spray cans and other varieties is the majority, followed by barrel making and canned cans. In terms of the total proportion, imported equipment and domestic equipment are basically half and half. Due to the introduction of more high-speed equipment, the production capacity is greater than the market demand. It is because of the high precision that some enterprises have been in trouble in recent years, which is temporary. For example, the number of two-piece cans has increased from the original 13 production lines to 26, and the annual production capacity has reached more than 10 billion. At present, the market demand is less than 6billion, so some enterprises are semi shut down, and the same is true of three piece cans. It is expected that in the future, with the development of related industries, there will be new leaps. As a farsighted foreign businessman said, "China's market is a big market with great potential. If the annual per capita consumption of 10 cans is close to 13billion.". In the future, with the improvement of people's lives, there will be greater development
although the supply of some products exceeded the demand, all kinds of products increased in 1997, and all kinds of products were completed: 5.5 billion two-piece cans, 3.1 billion three piece beverage cans, 2.3 billion three piece cans, nearly 700million aerosol cans, 14.5 billion printing times of printed iron, 38 billion bottle caps of all kinds, 9.5 billion easy to pull caps of all kinds, 4.3 billion small drums and convenience barrels of less than 20 liters, and about 40million steel barrels of liter, which met the market demand
in the metal container industry, the large-scale and well-equipped iron printing can making ranks first, followed by bottle caps, and most of the barrel making equipment is domestic equipment. In the future, with the continuous growth of the national economy, expanding commodity exports and stimulating domestic demand, Bing (that is, the samples are constantly in the jaws, in the jaws, parallel sections or outside the gauge distance) will promote the development of canned food, various beverages, oil and chemical industry, petroleum products, cultural and educational supplies, medicine and health, cosmetics and other related industries, which will bring good luck to the packaging industry. In addition, since tinplate (tinplate), the main raw material used in the metal container industry, is expected to be fully localized in the next century, coupled with many factors such as the reduction of loan interest by the state for several times, the cost will decline, and the relative economic benefits will improve, which will bring new opportunities to enterprises
